Dart Orbit

Pin the spinning planet without touching a dart. Dart Orbit is a free one-tap dart throwing game. Time each throw at a spinning planet, dodge the darts already stuck in it and chase gems and boss stages.

How to play

A planet spins in the middle of the screen and your next dart waits at the bottom. Tap anywhere (or press Space) to fire it straight up. The dart sticks into the planet at whatever spot happens to be facing you when it lands, and the planet gives a little recoil kick.

Every stage gives you a fixed number of darts, shown as a column of icons on the left. Land them all and the planet bursts apart, then a new one spins in. If a dart lands on top of a dart that is already stuck, it bounces off and the run is over.

Scoring

  • Every dart that lands safely is 1 point.
  • Gems sit on the rim of the planet. Land a dart on one to collect it for a +3 bonus.
  • The stage number is shown under your score, so you can see how far you have come.

What changes as you go

  • Stages 1 and 2 are a steady spin with an empty planet. After that the speed starts to change, sometimes slowly surging, sometimes swinging back and forth in a smooth wobble, and sometimes reversing direction altogether.
  • From stage 3 onward the planet starts with a few darts already stuck in it, and the number grows as you climb.
  • You get between 6 and 10 darts per stage.
  • Every fifth stage is a boss. The planet turns red and an orange ring circles it. If a dart reaches the ring while a segment of it is in the way, the dart bounces and the run ends. Later bosses have two ring segments.

Tips

  • Watch the gap, not the dart. Look for the empty stretch of surface that will be at the bottom a split second from now. The throw is fast, but not instant.
  • Use the slow moments. On surging and wobbling planets, wait for the spin to ease off before you fire.
  • Stay calm against a boss ring. Throw just after a segment has passed the bottom, so the next one has the longest possible way to travel.
  • Gems are optional. A gem is worth three darts, but never worth a collision.

Why it’s fun

Dart Orbit is a pure timing game with a very short loop: tap, thunk, repeat. Runs are quick, the planets change colour from stage to stage, and the satisfying burst at the end of each one makes the next stage feel close. Your best score is saved on your device.
